Read the passage and choose the best answer to each of the following questions. THE GREATEST INVENTORS When we think of “the greatest inventors” in the world, we almost always think of those like Thomas Edison or Alexander Graham Bell. They had revolutionary ideas and there is no doubt that our lives would be very different (and very boring) without their creations. It almost seems like nobody has invented anything useful in a long time, but this is simply not true! Our technology today is so advanced that new inventions don’t seem to have life-changing results. But this doesn’t mean that they aren’t useful, or that they aren’t amazing, either. It’s just that they are less noticeable than it was in the past when new creations considerably changed our way of life. And so, we should celebrate these incredible people and respect them as much as we respect the inventors that came before them. Modern-day inventor Elon Musk has transformed the world of automobiles with his creation of arguably the first self-driving car that performs as well as regular cars. Before he passed away in 1931, Thomas Edison held the world record for the largest number of inventions – 1093 to be exact. In 2003, a Japanese inventor named Shunpei Yamazaki beat his record. As of today, Yamazaki holds the record of 6074 inventions, and counting! And then there is Mark Zuckerberg whose invention actually did change our lives, especially in terms of social media, marketing, and even job creation. Zuckerberg was only 19 years old when he invented Facebook. In 2007, at age 23, Zuckerberg became the world’s youngest self-made billionaire. 31. What is true about paragraph 1?
32. Why do we not seem to take much notice of new inventions today?
33. What did Elon Musk invent?
34. What is the current world record of inventions?
35. Which is NOT an effect of Mark Zuckerberg’s invention?
XII. Listen to a children’s TV episode about cleaning up the environment and complete the task by answering either TRUE or FALSE or NI if there is NO INFORMATION given. 36. We can make a difference to the environment if we are all healthy. 37. Big changes can make a small difference in saving the environment. 38. Public transport can help reduce pollution. 39. Each person creates 1000kg of Carbon Dioxide each year. 40. Global warming will be irreversible in the next 100 years. ------THE END------ Đáp án HƯỚNG DẪN GIẢI CHI TIẾT Thực hiện: Ban chuyên môn Loigiaihay.com 1. 31. C What is true about paragraph 1? (Điều gì đúng về đoạn 1?)

Chọn D Bài nghe: Welcome back kids. Last week we discussed the importance of exercise and health. But today we are going to be moving away from how we can make improvements in our bodies and on to how we can make improvements in our communities. Let's discuss all the different ways that each and everyone of us can help save the environment. It is important to know that the small changes that we make every day can make big differences. Something that each of us can do that makes a big difference is turning off the lights. Reducing electricity use not only helps the environment, but can save your parents a bit of money too. Another way of saving some money and the environment is by using public transports. Reducing the number of vehicles on the road can result in cleaner air. You can even try walking or riding a bike to school to reduce air pollution and improve your health. Remember, everyone and anyone can recycle, reuse, plant trees, pick up trash and do other acts of service to our environment. You will be surprised at how much of a difference you can make. Did you know that each person creates about 1000 greenhouse gases every year? We have a duty to the planet to reduce this. Experts suggest that if we don't make big changes in the next ten years, the Earth will be in trouble. So let's do our part.
