Is Skinceuticals CE Ferulic worth it Reddit

I see that Skinceuticals CE Ferulic seems to be the gold standard for vitamin c products. Those who use it, do you think it’s worth the cost? I have extremely sensitive skin so it makes me nervous.

I’ve tried SkinMedica CE and Alto Defense Vitamin C and liked both. I was able to get samples from my injector, but of course I can’t get a sample of the Skinceuticals. My skin has taken to both of those well.

Is Skinceuticals CE Ferulic worth it Reddit

Yes, love their vitamin c, absorbs so well. But someone just mentioned the timeless vitamin c and it looks pretty good too based on the reviews.

How long would you say a bottle lasts for you?!

level 1

I have sensitive skin and had no issues with it but also no results. After trying several brands I’ve determined my skin just doesn’t respond to serums and thrives with just moisturizer and spf. Everyone is different!

level 1

I used skinceuticals vit c for a year, it is a nice product. I recently moved to the timeless vit c (direct from their website) and I think it is a solid dupe.

level 2

I switched to the Timeless brand about 3 years ago and I would never go back to Skinceuticals now. Plus their patent is almost expired so their exact serum will be offered by virtually every company fairly soon.

It does work to reduce dark spots noticeably, and therefore I consider it worth the cost because most products don’t actually do anything except make you feel good about yourself for putting them on haha. A bottle last 6 months. However, for the price, I have come to think that I could up my sunscreen budget and my skin would be better off in the long run :-)

I noticed the other day a trial size bottle was available as a free gift when you spent a certain amount at Dermstore, that could be a good way to try it if you have other things to buy anyway!

Maelove Glowmaker is a vit c/ferulic acid serum for $27 a bottle and incredible. Highly recommend. Love love love it.

level 2

Was looking for this rec - Mae love is the closest to formulation to the CE Ferulic!

I also have sensitive skin and I’ve had positive results with Timeless Skincare 20% vitamin C&E Ferulic Acid Serum from Target. I think it’s only available online. It’s like $18.99 and a close dupe for SkinCeuticals. I keep it in the fridge so it lasts longer. It does have a kind of unpleasant smell but that’s also true of SkinCeuticals.

After having used vitamin c & ferulic acid I must say that I prefer the timeless version. It doesn’t oxidize as fast as SC. However I absolutely love the Silymarin vitamin c version from SC and would recommend it over the more popular one with ferulic acid. If anyone knows a dupe for that one please let me know! :)

Honestly no. I would buy it again only if I had a red carpet event and was going to be photographed by the paparazzi. For being a normal person, $150+ per month to get a little extra glow is not worth it. That's over $1,500 a year!! Even if I can technically afford it, there's so many things I would rather do with that amount of money. Sunscreen + tretinoin get you 99% of the way there in terms of anti-aging. I'm not gonna pay over a thousand dollars to cover that last 1%

Edit: sunscreen + tretinoin + sleep

One bottle lasts months though

I’m a total SkinCeuticals stan. I’ve tried all of their vitamin c products. I also have extremely sensitive skin. In the winter, my skin will only tolerate serum 10. I recommend starting with that anyway. I firmly believe their products are worth it and they have a very helpful chat on their website that I’ve used before with good luck :)

level 2

Also, I find that a bottle lasts me several months. I’m thinking upwards of 6 months even.

I like Skinbetter Alto so much better than Skinceuticals. I love the lightweight crème formulation and the packaging. If you’re a klutz like me, you may risk accidentally tipping over your bottle if CE ferulic and have $130 worth of serum go to waste. Been there, done that, twice 😩 Plus the way it’s packaged can lead to oxidation, whereas Alto is a closed system that doesn’t allow air or light in.

level 2

I have liked the sample of Alto she sent me home with!

level 2

looooove the alto works much better for my skin than skinceuticals vit C.

I wanted to love the CE Ferulic due to all the great reviews, but I didn't see any results to speak of. I think it is overpriced hotdog water.

I have been using the Peter Thomas Roth Power C (similar ingredients) and I do think my face looks brighter, my dark spots have faded and I will continue to repurchase.

level 2

Same here. I’ve had better results with Skinceutical’s cheaper 10% version. I also liked Clinique’s Fresh Pressed vitamin c but it wasn’t cost effective and the packaging is wasteful.

level 1

Worth it but don’t need it also.

I only buy on sale from skinstore or dermstore. Plus I will layer on Rakuten cash back. So I would always wait to at least get skinceuticals 20% off.

Is anything as good as SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic?

Paula's Choice BOOST C15 Super Booster 15% Vitamin C with Vitamin E + Ferulic Acid. Like the SkinCeuticals serum, this $50 vitamin C product contains nearly the same blend of the holy trinity of actives. It contains 15 percent stabilized vitamin C with a pH of 3.0 and a blend of peptides.

Should CE ferulic be stored in fridge?

Please store C E Ferulic at room temperature and away from extreme temperature drops or increases, such as a hot car or in a freezer. While it is likely okay to store your C E Ferulic in a fridge, there is no added benefit or longevity to this storage method.

Does CE Ferulic cause acne?

The only hitch is that sometimes antioxidants with vitamin E oil in them, like CE Ferulic, can provoke breakouts for those with pimple-prone skin.

What is better than CE Ferulic?

While C E Ferulic is the ideal topical antioxidant for fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness and skin brightening in normal, dry and sensitive skin types, Phloretin CF may be a better choice for normal, oily and combination skin experiencing discoloration along with visible signs of aging.
