Skin can get clogged up during the day due to impurities in the air and daily grease as well as sweat. The best way to remedy this is by using a facial cleanser in the mornings and evenings.

There are many different types of cleansers that are based on factors ranging from specific skin type to the scrub itself. For example, if you find that you have a lot of dead skin cells, you may try an cleansing exfoliator. Or if you have sensitive skin, you may try a gentle face wash.

The face wash pictured above is the Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in lemon from The Face Shop. Upon opening the product, you can definitely smell the distinct scent of lemon. I happen to love citrus smells, so I specifically sought out this product. However, if you are not a fan of lemon, you can also purchase this product in a variety of other scents. (Shown below.)

Another thing that you’ll notice upon applying this product it is extremely easy to be heavy handed and accidentally squeeze out too much. The first time I applied about a nickel-sized amount and it coated a little more of my face than I would have wanted. However, the product itself has a rich feel to it, and it’s very silky.

Before you apply the product to your face, it’s a good idea to wet your face with water so that the cleanser is easier to rub into your skin.

Initially, I didn’t like how thick the cleanser was. But after awhile I found that if I applied less of it that it was more effective and easier to use. What I do like about this product is that it feels extremely soft on the skin and after you rinse it off you definitely feel relaxed and renewed.

I’m on a cleanser usage spree. Why? Well, I’ll be headed to the land of the rising sun in 2 months’ time and I wanted to empty out my stash because I know I’ll go bananas in the Japanese drugstores.

I don’t actually know if there are people like me, meaning I can have multiple cleansers in usage at any point of time. One at the sink, one in the shower.. basically any waterpoint in the house you can find a tube sitting around. I guess it just makes me think that I am using them up at a faster rate. Do you have the same quirk as me?

Price: $7.90 for 2 on Qoo10 (price ranges from seller to seller) I did a little research before I bought them. When I say research, I mean I went to the local stores to check how much the product cost. My findings were the local stores sell this product at $10.90 a tube (170ml), so I scored a really good deal online.

That being said, I have currently two lost parcels from Qoo10 and it’s driving me nuts. 😦 That’s the thing with online shopping. You win some, you lose some.

The photo above is to show the consistency of the product. I’m not entirely sure if it reflects, but the product in real life is creamy and has a pearlescent sheen.

Usage: Add water, lather all over face, rinse off

I like these cleansers, given that after usage my face felt soft and not stripped of my natural oils. You know some cleansers that make you feel parched/gives you this tight feeling after use? This has nothing like that, Also, I didn’t exactly experience any of the advertised effects. In my honest opinion this is a nice, fuss-free facial daily cleanser.

My rating only applies to if you bought the item off Qoo10, then it’s a really good deal. Otherwise, I won’t shell out $10 bucks for a daily cleanser because I know of other counter/drugstore brands that work equally as well. I would repurchase this if the price remains the same.

My experience with The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing foam

The very first thought that came into my mind after receiving this was “It’s huge”. Trust me guys this looks small on Nykaa but in reality, it is seriously huge and is a total value for money. It comes in a tube with flip cap.

How is the consistency, texture and smell?

I chose lemon variant because lemon is best known for their cleansing and toning property. Lemon also helps in removing the blemishes and scars. This face wash has a cream like consistency and very smooth texture. You will need a coin sized product or even less for cleansing. It smells citrusy with a hint of lemon fragrance to it.

How do I use it?

In the morning I usually wet my face and just like any other normal face wash I use it. But I use a less quantity compared to other face washes. It develops into a smooth creamy foam. And at night I wash my face with this herb day 365 cleansing foam but with a pore cleansing brush. While cleansing my face with the brush this face wash lathers up just like a shaving cream.

How effective is it?

Now after covering all the basics let me tell you guys about its effectiveness. For the first two to three days this herb day 365 cleansing foam removed the oil from my whole face making my cheeks a little dry. But I didn’t find any kind of dryness on my T-Zone. And I continued using this because of its beautiful instant effect. This herb day 365 cleansing foam gave me an instant brightness on my face right after washing off the face wash. I kid you not like I close my eyes and wash off the cleansing foam and when I open my eyes I could see my skin bright and totally cleansed. I loved this feeling and no, I am in no way promoting fairness or what so ever.

After 2-3 days I did not feel any dryness or stretchy feeling on my face *strange* May be my skin was getting adjusted to it. Now it’s been almost a month or so and I am still loving it. I don’t know about the other variants but this herb day 365 cleansing foam in lemon variant is just amazing. It removes all of the oil and dirt from my face without making my face dry. It gives my face a matte, soft and cleansed feel. This is the best face wash I have ever tried. I love La Roche Posay cleansing foam but now I love this a bit more than that. This lemon variant has also helped me in toning my skin. Every time I wash my face with this I could see my pores size getting reduced. It keeps my face oily free for a good 3-4 and sometimes 2-3 hours. It depends on the products that you use after washing your face.

I was really very confused while choosing the variant and now I am happy that I chose lemon. If you have an oily skin then without any second thought just go for it. I am sure you will love it. But if you have normal or dry skin then lemon variant is for sure not for you. You can try Aloe as they are hydrating and will not strip off your natural oil. This herb day 365 cleansing foam did not cause any break outs neither did it strip off the oil from my face. You may feel like it is making your skin dry in the beginning but within a week you will observe the changes. It will not cause any sort of dryness. This large tube will last for a really long time and it is worth the money.
