Belle and Bella is an all natural way to make delicious creamy yogurt at home that’s good for you with billions of live probiotic cultures for only pennies a day!

I don’t follow the instructions in the box and instead all I do is add half a sachet of the starter to 500ml of coconut cream. I leave it outside for 24hrs covered with a cloth. The second photo is how it looks like after 24 hrs, it’s thicker and has a tangy yogurt taste. I than store it in the fridge for up to 5 days, once it’s in the fridge it firms up a bit more and the texture is very similar to non dairy yogurt.

from tasting it just now!! 🤩 I don’t have a yogurt maker I heated up the oven at 50 deg, turned it off and left the yogurt jar there overnight. I’m in Singapore so the room temperature is already quite hot. I used Kirkland Organic soy milk, with 2 tsp added sugar and 4 tbsp cornstarch, turned our pretty thick. It’s a huge confidence booster and now I can have yogurt at a fraction of the cost of readymade non dairy yogurts! 🤩 Bought it on

iherb

For homemade vegan yogurt! Can be made with sweetened soy, almond or coconut milk.

This vegan yogurt starter is available at iherb. There are 4 small packets of powder-like

substance in this box. The instructions are written on the box but I use my own hassle-free method. I use the "yogurt" function in my pressure cooker to make my soy yogurt. I can skip the usual heating and cooling milk process. I am pleased with the natural smooth and light consistency of my homemade soy yogurt without undesirable thickener or additives.

For those who prefer thicker texture, you may add arrowroot powder instead of cornstarch. I do not use cornstarch in all my vegan dishes.

What is the best yogurt to use as a starter?

YOGURT AS A STARTER CULTUREPlain Greek yogurt is the best choice. Furthermore, homemade yogurt can also be used as a starter for another batch. Simply whisk a quarter cup (per 1 litre of milk) into your milk. Over time the probiotic strains will weaken so this is not a process to be repeated indefinitely.

Can you add too much yogurt starter?

For larger batches: You can make up to 2 quarts of yogurt per container, but keep your ratios consistent - too much yogurt starter can lead to bitter, grainy yogurt.

Can I use store bought yogurt as a starter?

Whether homemade or from the store, yogurt itself makes a great yogurt starter. If you're using store-bought yogurt, check the label to make sure it contains live, active cultures—and doesn't have any additives like sweeteners, flavours or thickeners.

How much yogurt starter to use for 1 litre milk?

For example using 1 gram of starter will turn 1 liter of milk into a great tasting yogurt in 6-8 hrs. And using 10 grams of starter will turn 50 liters of milk into the same great tasting yogurt in the same 6-8 hrs.
