I thought today is the perfect time to share with you my thoughts about the toner that I am currently using… the Muji Light Toning Water – High Moisture. Wew! That’s a long one! Anyway, I’ve been using this toner for 3 months now. Do I like it? Continue reading to find out.

A couple of months back I remember myself having a hard time finding out a toner that I can incorporate to my skin care regimen. The reason for that is because my skin is not only normal to dry but also a little bit sensitive. So I am very careful on choosing the right product that is suited for my skin type. Initially, I wanted to skip toning because I was scared that it might just make my skin more dry or more sensitive because toners are known to have high alcohol content, well, I’m sure not all of them but most of ‘em right. But you know what, toning is actually very important if you want your skin’s PH level balanced and make the rest of your skin care products more effective. Glad toners like Muji Light Toning Water is suitable for sensitive skin like mine.

For everyone’s reference, Muji is a Japanese retail company founded in 1980. It offers a wide variety of household and consumer products including Household goods, Kitchen utensil, Fashion, Stationery, Home appliances, Cosmetics, Food and Furniture. The company is known for their minimalist design packaging that actually makes everything look luxurious rather than cheap. The word MUJI is derived from the first part of Mujirushi Ryōhin, which translates as “no-brand quality goods.”

Now you know a little bit about the company, let’s go straight to the product review, shall we?

This looks very expensive to me. Even Instagram-able!

One thing I love about Muji is that they’re very particular with their skincare products. Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive, even mature skin type, Muji Skincare definitely has products suited for you. This Muji Light Toning Water is from their Sensitive Skin line in which you can choose between Moisture or High Moisture variant. Since I have dry skin most of the time, I opt to their high moisture variant.

Instructions

Apply using cotton to the entire face after washing.

How I use it

I always make sure to clean my face first using my Micellar Water then double cleanse using my regular foam cleanser. And then I use my Muji Light Toning Water – High Moisture toner about 3 squeezes on a cotton pad on my entire face to prepare my skin to the next steps of my skin care routine. I like how this toner able to remove dirt and residue left off of my face that my two facial cleansers were not able to remove without irritating my skin. I also feel the high level of moisture it left my skin every after application.

I remember one time I forgotten to put a toner and went straight directly to my serum, I felt something was missing because my skin did not feel moisturized at all. It just felt incomplete without it.

Bonus tips: See that little white thing inside the cap? That is actually a compressed facial mask sheet. Another way of using the Muji Toner is to soak a compressed facial mask sheet until it expands and unfolds and voila! A soaked mask sheet to cover your face 🙂 This is also available in Muji store.

Things I like

  • Packaging

  • Gentle like water.
  • Suited for sensitive skin
  • No breakouts, redness or any other skin irritation experienced.
  • Paraben free / alcohol free and free from other irritating/harmful ingredients
  • Has mild scent, almost scentless.

Things I don’t like

  • A little bit tacky probably because I have the one with High Moisture variant but nonetheless, its very moisturizing.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I’ve no regrets that I included a toner into my skin care regimen and I consider myself lucky that I came across Muji Light Toning Water not only it gives enough moisture but also it is very gentle and perfect for my sensitive skin. Price wise, a little bit pricey for me but few squeeze goes a long way. I have been using it for three months but still have plenty left on my bottle. I recommend this for sure to everyone with sensitive skin but girls, remember, what product works for me may not work for you and vice versa. Please do patch testing first and check if your skin will badly react to the product.
