Whats it like nghĩa là gì

Hi there, Việc học và cải thiện Tiếng Anh của bạn diễn ra như thế nào rồi? Hi vọng là các bạn vẫn giữ vững tinh thần mỗi ngày dành ra 5 tới 10 phút quan tâm tới Tiếng Anh, việc này không quá mất thời gian nhưng sẽ giúp ích cho bạn rất nhiều đấy. Hôm nay, chúng ta sẽ tìm hiểu làm thế nào để đặt câu hỏi với từ “how” và cấu trúc “what…like”. Chúng ta bắt đầu nhé? Câu hỏi với từ “how” rất phổ biến trong Tiếng Anh và được sử dụng khi chúng ta muốn hỏi về sức khoẻ của ai đó hay về họ cảm thấy như thế nào.

Khi gặp ai đó, thông thường chúng ta nói:

How are you?

Hoặc

How are things? [ngữ cảnh không trang trọng]

Câu trả lời cho những câu hỏi trên thường là:

I’m well / fine, thank you.

Và nếu chúng ta muốn tìm hiểu thông tin cụ thể về một người nào đó, ngữ cảnh hoặc điều mà chúng ta sử dụng sẽ là “how” cộng với một tính từ.

How big is your house?

It’s very big!

How tall are you?

I’m 1.84 meters tall

How old is she?

She’s 26 years old

Quá dễ, đúng không?
Bây giờ, hãy cùng tìm hiểu xem từ “like” và làm thế nào để sử dụng nó trong câu, bạn sẽ nhận ra thông qua câu dưới đây rằng từ “like” không có nghĩa như động tự “like” [thích].

I want the car like this one

Từ “like” trong trường hợp này được sử dụng nhằm chỉ sự giống nhau. Như vậy chúng ta sử dụng “what…like” khi nói về người hoặc vật mà chúng ta cần mô tả một cách tổng quát hơn.
Trong dạng số ít chúng ta có thể sử dụng “what is” có thể rút gọn thành “what’s” khi đặt câu hỏi thêm thông tin.

What’s the film like?

It’s great!

What’s he like?

He’s really nice.

What’s Thailand like?

Very beautiful.

Tuy nhiên, khi sử dụng số nhiều chúng ta không rút gọn.

What are the people like?

They are very nice

What are the the Pyramids like?

They are amazing!

Trả lời: Subject + Be + Adjective. "What + S + Be + like" có nghĩa là “như thế nào?” , tương đương với How, nhưng How còn dùng để hỏi sức khỏe nên có thể gây hiểu lầm. e.g: What’s your new English teacher like? [Giáo viên tiếng Anh mới của bạn như thế nào?] Nếu chúng ta hỏi “How is your new English teacher?” có thể bị hiểu thành “Giáo viên tiếng Anh mới của bạn có khỏe không?” Câu trả lời không bắt buộc dùng tính từ nào, có thể hoàn toàn do ý kiến chủ quan của người đó, thí dụ được hỏi “Paris như thế nào?” có người sẽ nói “đẹp”, có người nói “ồn ào quá”, và có thể có người nói “đắt đỏ lắm”. [Ông ấy cao và ốm/ gầy. hoặc Ông ấy nghiêm khắc.] What are your sisters like? – They’re friendly. [Các em gái của bạn như thế nào? Họ thân thiện.] What’s the food in Paris like? – It’s very delicious. [Thức ăn ở Paris thế nào? – Ngon lắm.] What are your new shoes like? – They’re comfortable. [Đôi giày mới của bạn thế nào? – Thoải mái.] Khi không nói rõ tên, chúng ta dùng "the" trước danh từ vì hiểu ngầm là đang nói về 1 nơi cả người hỏi và người trả lời đang nói tới. e.g [đang nói về New York]

Giới từ thường phải đặt ở cuối câu nên tốt hơn là đặt giới từ "like" ở cuối . Sở hữu cách ['s] chỉ dùng với người và thú vật [có 1 vài trường hợp ngoại lệ] nên phải nói là "in Egypt" nhé.

Qua bài này, tôi có thắc mắc như sau: Trong SGK English 8, trang 15 có hai câu : 1- What does he/she look like? 2- What is he/she like? Theo sách Hướng Dẫn Học Tốt của tác giả Mai Lan Hương thì 1- Hỏi về vẻ bên ngoài. 2- Hỏi về tính tình Vậy theo NTT, khi ta hỏi về người thì có cần phân biệt như hai câu hỏi này không? Vậy theo NTT, khi ta hỏi về người thì có cần phân biệt như hai câu hỏi này không?

Trước đây bạn SUPER UFO hỏi nhưng NTT kg thấy nên kg trả lời [vì các cán sự lớp sửa bài trang này, NTT bận quá kg xem lại], sorry nhé. Trả lời chung cho bạn 0camxuc nhé, theo sách Hướng Dẫn Học Tốt của tác giả Mai Lan Hương là rõ ràng rồi. Vì đây là lớp học ngữ pháp cơ bản nên NTT kg muốn đưa nhiều dạng câu quá, sẽ khó nhớ. Dùng cấu trúc này có thể áp dụng để hỏi về tính tình của người, nhưng trả lời về hình dáng bên ngoài cũng chấp nhận được mà. Còn look like chỉ dùng hỏi về vẻ bên ngoài thôi. Tùy theo mình muốn hỏi về điều gì thì dùng cấu trúc đó.
