• What time do you usually get up?

I usually get up at five thirty.

• What do you usually do next?

I usually do exercise.

• Do you usually have breakfast at home?

Yes. I usually have breakfast with my family.

• What time do you go to school?

I usually go to school at 6 : 30.

• Whal time do you have lunch?

I usually have lunch at 11 : 30.

• What do you do in the afternoon?

I usually learn my lessons and do exercises or homework.

• Do you play sports with friends?

Yes, sometimes I do.

• What do you do after dinner?

After dinner. I often watch TV with my family until 8 o’clock.

• And after that, what do you do ?

I study and do more exercises.

• What time do you usually go to bed?

I usually go to bed at 10:30.

Mr. Vy: The alarm goes off at 4:30. I get up and go down to the kitchen to boil some water for my morning tea. I drink several cups of tea, have a quick breakfast and the lead the buffalo to the field. It takes me 45 minutes to get ready. I leave the house at a quarter past five and arrive in the ield at exactly 5:30. I pluogh and harrow my plot of land and at a quarter to eight I take a short rest. During my break I often drink tea with my fellow peasants and smoke local tobacco. I cotinue to work from a quarter past eight till 10:30. Then I go home, tae a short rest and have lunch with my family at 11:30. After unch I usually take an hour’s rest.

Mrs. Tuyet: At 2:30 in the afternoon we go to the field again. We repair th banks of our plot of land. Then My husband pumps water into it while I do the transplanting. We work for about two hours before we take a rest. We finish our work at 6 p.m. We have dinner at about 7 p.m., then we watch TV and go to bed at about 10 p.m. Sometimes we go and see our neighbours for a cup of tea. We chat about our work, our children and our plans for the next crop. Although it’s a long day for us, we are contented with what we do. We love working and we love our children.

Task 2: Answer the following questions. [Trả lời các câu hải sau.]

• 1. What is Mr. Vy’s occupation? [Ông Vy làm nghề gì?]

 He’s a peasant / farmer. [Ông ấy là nông dân]

• 2. What time does he get up and what does he do after that? [Ông ấy dậy lúc mấy giờ và ông ấy làm gì sau đó?]

He gets up at 4:30 and goes down to the kitchen to boil some water for his early tea.

• 3. What does he do in the morning? [ông ấy làm gì vào buổi sáng?]

He ploughs and harrows his plot of land, drinks tea and smokes local tobacco with his fellow peasants during his break.

• 4. What do Mr.Vy and his wife do in the afternoon? [Ông Vy và vợ làm gì trong buổi chiều?]  

In the afternoon. Mr Vy and his wife repair the banks of their plot of land. Mr Vy puinto it wmps water while his wife does the transplanting.

• 5. Are they happy with their life or not? Why? [Họ có hạnh phúc với cuộc sống của mình không? Tại sao?]   

Yes. they are, because they love working and they love their children, too.

Task 3: Scan the passage and make a brief note about Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet's daily routines. Then compare your note with a partner’s.

In the afternoon	2 : 30 : Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet go to the field again, repair the banks of the plot of land. Mr Vy pumps water into the plot of land. Mrs Tuyet does the transplanting. 6 : 30 : finish work
After dinner	watch TV. go to bed sometimes visit their neighbors, chat about work, children and plan for the next crop

Mr Vy and Mrs Tuyet are farmers. They get up early, at 4 : 30

a.m. They work hard on their plot of land, usually from 5 : 30 a.m. till 6 p.m. Mr Vy usually takes an hour's rest after lunch.

After dinner, they watch TV and go to bed at about 10 p.m. Sometimes, they visit their neighbors and chat ahoul their work, their children and their plan for thc next crop. They love working and they love their children as well.
