Installing Updates on Windows InstancesImportant If you have enabled active hours on your Windows instances, do not schedule updates during active hours. The OS Management service does not install updates that are scheduled during active hours. Note You can configure Windows instances in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to receive product updates from Microsoft or through a server designated as a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). OS Management can be used to schedule and deploy updates delivered to the instance from either source. Using the APIWhat are Microsoft security updates?Security updates are a widely released fix for a product-specific, security-related vulnerability. Security vulnerabilities are rated by their severity. The severity rating is indicated in the Microsoft security bulletin as critical, important, moderate, or low.
What are Microsoft patches?A patch is a software update released to correct errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities in computer programs. Microsoft releases patches to fix vulnerabilities in their software on a regular basis. Patches are usually released as an update that can be downloaded and installed to update an application or system.
How do you update Microsoft security?Select Start > Control Panel > Security > Security Center > Windows Update in Windows Security Center. Select View Available Updates in the Windows Update window. The system will automatically check if there's any update that need to be installed, and display the updates that can be installed onto your computer.
What is Microsoft rollup patches?A rollup is simply multiple patches combined into a single update. Each monthly rollup supersedes the previous month's rollup. The goal is for these monthly rollups to become fully cumulative, which will happen as Microsoft adds previously released patches, so that users need only to install the latest single rollup.
