Does the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Sport have led headlights?

I’m waiting for the headlight assemblies to come in. I will update the original post when everything is done.

I have decided to take the plunge, I’m going to be doing the conversion.

i have the harness to make it all work from FoxBeam lighting.

I’m looking at parts catalog and there are two different part numbers for 2020-2022 Led housings.

I’m not sure which is the correct one, one is cheaper than the other.

Right- 84002FL601
Left - 84002FL611

And

Right- 84913FL461
Left- 84913FL471

If anyone knows which are the right ones to buy please let me know.

I'm in Florida. I'm be using OEM housings. We don't have inspections but I'll see if there is anything on the books.

They are both LED units. The halogen units are in the 250-300 dollar range.

I am supporting and following your quest, as I have looked into the same foxbeam cables you have. Keep us abreasted on it.

If you are attempting to put LEDs in headlight units designed for halogen I suggest you read the other threads. There are many on this. This is a pretty dangerous exercise. I would strongly advise against it. If it’s illegal in your state [noting also you can cross state lines too] then apart from the fact you shouldn’t do it you may want to think twice about documenting it all.

Also the ECU is running the OEM LED headlights so I don’t think you can just buy and install OEM LED units if that is your plan. The ECU is programmed specifically.

That is what the harness i posted a picture of is for, it allows you to connect the OEM led housings.

If you're going to go full LED then I would go with the more expensive unit since that's what is found on Crosstreks with LED lights. You can ask your local dealership to confirm to make sure you have the right part number before you spend lots of money.

The only issue I can think of right now is you might have an error code on the dash because the LED lights have adaptive lights so your car may not have the program to make the adaptive lights work.

Maybe the dealership can program it for you? I saw a thread regarding Subaru's SSM4 scan tool allowing you to turn on or off certain features if your car has the software for it.

With the harness he posted above the installation process is plug and play. All he needs to do is buy a pair of Limited headlights. I suggest he get in contact with Nick from FoxBeam and he’ll point you in the right direction.

That’s exactly what he is trying to do. That’s what the harness is for. All he needs to do is buy a pair of limited headlights and plug them in and he’s done. The SRH will not work that’s for sure.

Definitely interested in how his goes. I’ve been looking on eBay and the Limited housing are readily available used but generally are missing a tab or three. At used pricing, this upgrade is pretty comparable to aftermarket housings which would not be OEM quality.

Yeah, what I was alluding to. Here in California it's illegal to do anything with headlights other than replace it with the OE unit. Even lift kits can fall foul of the law as they affect the beam height.

That’s exactly what he’s trying to do.
He has the harness, just needs the limited headlights. Since he already has the harness there is no point going with a retrofit. Just needs a pair of limited headlights. From FoxBeam[if he has some in stock] or a Subaru dealer, or eBay.

If you are determined to try to do this conversion, be sure to add in the LED headlight leveler hardware that is attached to the rear suspension, otherwise you will be binding oncoming cars if you have any appreciable weight in the car.

Indeed. However Fox's solution is actually significantly cheaper than the harness + OEM LED headlamps combo [at least when purchased new]. IIRC, OEM LED headlamps are ~900-1000$ USD each, while Fox charges 1000-1300 for the pair [depending on the option: single bi-LED projector, dual LED, etc]. Unless the OP desires OEM LED ones specifically.

I'm thinking he might be able to get the headlights from a salvaged Limited vehicle for cheaper than those sites u mentioned.
