I was having similar issues with Remote Desktop for weeks on a MacMini Server.

The solution turned out to be
sudo pkill -u -2 ARDAgent
which I found at
//discussions.apple.com/thread/7759031
Apparently this has been an issue for YEARS and yet Apple hasn't fixed it… then again Remote Desktop hasn't had any attention since… well, it was probably the iPhone 3GS era.

It seems a shame that Apple has all but abandoned their server market.

Forgive me, I don't really support macs. I have a user that has been using MS Remote Desktop on their Mac for months to connect to a remote PC. On Monday, the RDP client stopped opening. It sits in the taskbar / launcher and nothing happens if you click on it.
Has anyone else experienced this and know how to make the RDP client load? We have re-installed and rebooted multiple times.

After Big Sur was loaded on mac book pro now the microsoft remote desktop won't load and throws an error report. Anyone have an idea on how to fix it?Thanks,

After upgrading to Big Sur, I can no longer connect to any windows computer using Remote Desktop app.
Any fixes?

Hi,
I Get the error code:
"We couldn't connect to the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.
Error code: 0x204"
Problem is my Mac [OS 10.14] can't connect to PC at work [Win 10 Pro]. The VPN establishes thou.I connect via VPN [SonicWall mobile connect]I also have a PC at home which connects just fine.If I share internet thru my phone/4G the Mac will connect,
the problem is only when I'm on ethernet/wi-fi [but that's no problem for the PC].

If I recall, there is more than one Remote Desktop app on the store, maybe you got the wrong one.
I think they finally pulled version 8 from the App Store.
