Run over five days with over $200,000 in Cash and Prizes, Get the Beat National Dance Championships are the most spectacular dance event of the year and are held right in the middle of the Sunshine CoastThere are heaps of trophies up for grabs, as up to 9 winners and runners-up will be awarded prizes at the end of the competition. Three age groups are competing, and those wanting to qualify for the Championships must win their section leading up to the Gala
The competition is open to ‘Amateur’ competitors, which means that the dancer is not working full-time as a dance teacher or performer. There are many categories in which dancers can perform, including Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre/Cabaret, Song & Dance, Hip Hop, Tap, Slow Modern/Lyrical, Student Choreography, Modern Expressive, Broadway Jazz, Jazz, Acro, Improv and Open. Those competing must abide by the time allocated, which are. a solo performance is 3 minutes, song and dance are 3. 30 minutes, duos/trios are 3 minutes, and groups are 5 minutes
For spectators, cameras, camcorders, or other recording devices are not permitted to use within the performance or dressing areas. Come along to Get the Beat National Championships and join in on the fun

SESSION PASSES are sold as general admission [no allocation] and allows access to both the Kings Theatre and Playhouse during the purchased session
DAY PASSES are sold as general admission [no allocation] and allows access to morning, afternoon and evening sessions in both the Kings Theatre and Playhouse on the purchased day. Day passes can be purchased by selecting the first session of the day
WRISTBANDS. Patrons will be issued with wristbands reflecting the day and session they have purchased. Wristbands must be collected from the Box Office
The Nambour Junior Eisteddfod was revived in 1967, previous to this an Eisteddfod had been held in the 1930's and 1940's
The main aim was to showcase the talents of the young people, to give them experience before an audience and to be build self-confidence. the music section consisting of piano, organ, and call was held in the Masonic Hall, Blackall Terrace, Nambour with just one adjudicator. School choirs performed in the old cicvic hall in Currie Street.
