Product: OMEN 15-DC0004NP Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) Hey everyone, so I recently bought a OMEN Laptop with the following features: Intel Core i5-8300H 2,3 GHz ( 4 GHz ) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4 GB ) Ram: 8GB Memory: 256 GB SSD So when I start playing games for example garrys mod my fans just start getting too loud and when I touch the bottom of the laptop, it is too hot so I go to check the temputure in the OMEN command center and the temperature is like 70 to 90 degrees around that and the battery life goes down too fast. So I dont play while charging because Im afraid to damage the battery and I dont know if it is good or not playing games while charging. I need some anwsers to my problem I will be waiting. Regards, me. Solved! Go to Solution. Tags (3)

Hello @OblixonViPeRz Typically we do recommend you play games while the AC charger is plugged in. If your temps are reaching into the 90s, you could try a little hack to see if the temps go down a bit. Go to the Search bar (Cortana) and type Edit Power Plan, then hit the Enter key. IN the pop up window, click on Change advanced power settings. In the next pop up window, scroll down to Processor power management and expand it. Go to Maximum porcessor state>plugged in and change the percentage from 100 to 99%. Click the OK button save any changes. See if the temps drop a little while gaming plugged in. Thanks for replying I appreciate. I have another question so if I play always with a AC Charger for about 3 hours around that, my battery will get damaged? I mean playing always with a AC charger will affect my battery in the future? for example: when I use my laptop without the AC Charger just to do some work or others things will the battery get down faster than normal? There iscircuitry built in to stop the battery from overcharging, if that is your concern. If you play unplugged, the system will throttle the hardware down to save power and the performance takes a hit. Im old school so I justdon't leave the plug in when the PC is off. Other than that, you should be good to go. Was this reply helpful? Yes No Be alert for scammers posting fake support phone numbers and/or email addresses on the community.
