Next year’s F1 World Championship will feature 24 races for the first time. Show Next year’s Formula 1 (F1) Singapore Grand Prix will be held on Sep 17, according to the 2023 calendar announced by auto racing governing body Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Next year’s F1 season will run from March to November 2023 and feature 24 races for the first time. Similar to past years, the season will open with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Mar 5, and end with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Nov 26. The Singapore Grand Prix, which falls on Sep 17, will be the 17th race of the 2023 season. The night race around Marina Bay will be held two weeks after the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, similar to this year’s schedule. Next year’s F1 race will also see the introduction of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which falls on Nov 18. There will be three races in the United States next year, with the Miami Grand Prix falling on May 7 and the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on Oct 22. Two races – in China and Qatar – will also return to the lineup next year. The Chinese Grand Prix, last held in 2019, will take place on Apr 16, while the Qatar Grand Prix, which was left out this year because of a clash with the FIFA World Cup, will take place on Oct 8. Currently in the 2022 season, Red Bull Racing is leading the constructors title race with 545 points, 139 points ahead of closest rivals Ferrari. In the drivers’ championship, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen leads the race with 335 points, ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who has 219 points. The Red Bull driver can potentially clinch the drivers’ championship this weekend at the Singapore Grand Prix. The 2023 F1 calendar was
announced by the FIA on September 20th, 2022. The 2023 grand prix schedule will include 24 races, the most ever held in a single season. Changes from 2022 to 2023One race which took place in 2022 did not return the following year. This was the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard, whose contract was not renewed. Doubt was also cast over the futures of the races in Monaco and Belgium, but both returned, though the latter only earned a one-year extension for 2023. The addition of three events not on the 2022 schedule swelled the calendar to its record 24 rounds. The first of these was the Chinese Grand Prix in April, returning for the first time since 2019 having been absent due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Qatar Grand Prix, which first took place in 2021, also returned after a year off. Its absence from the 2022 schedule was due to the FIFA football World Cup taking place the same year. F1 also added a return to Las Vegas for the first time since the eighties, but at a new circuit instead of the unloved temporary Caesar’s Palace track used in 1981 and 1982. The new Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place on a street track incorporating the famous Las Vegas Strip. Six sprint races will be held in 2023, an increase from three the year before.
